Awareness visits and training
We have awareness and information stands across the city once a month for upcoming dates please contact us.
We are keen to work with other agencies to support carers. If you have an interest in working with carers and would like to discuss joint working, or require advice or information, please get in touch.
We also offer training at West Offices through the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
We have online carer awareness courses that you can complete.
Upcoming training opportunities – Carer Awareness
‘Identifying and supporting carers’; an introduction to York Carers Centre.
This one off training session is an opportunity for professionals to learn more about York Carers Centre and the support available for unpaid carers across the city. This will increase your understanding of carers, their role and its effect on their lives.
It is an opportunity to explore how we as professionals working in the health and social care field can help to identify carers early; recognise them as ‘partners’ in care; and help carers to maintain their own health and wellbeing.
The dates for training are:
26 March 1.30 to 3.30pm
30 April 1.30 to 3.30pm
3 July 1.30 to 3.30pm
8 October 1.30 to 3.30pm
