Marco Polledri, General Manager at Radfield Home Care, is taking on an incredible 837 mile cycling challenge – the equivalent of Land’s End to John O’ Groats – to raise funds for us. York Carers Centre supporters Lisa and Kev Bainbridge, along with fundraiser Mick Burnett, hosted a Northern Soul charity night on Saturday 8 February 2025, raising an impressive £1,245. The fundraising event was held at Bishopthorpe Sports & Social Club, and attracted over 100 attendees, with funds raised through ticket sales and a raffle. Well done, soulies! Thank you for dancing your hearts out and making a real difference.

Many people impacted by addiction hesitate to seek support due to stigma, shame, or not identifying as a “carer.” York Carers Centre offer a safe, non-judgmental space through dedicated Substance Misuse and Gambling Carer Support Groups. Our free support ensures you’re heard – you don’t have to face this alone.

York Carers Centre offers dedicated support for mental health carers, led by experienced staff and volunteers. The team organised a local experience day at York Minster and The Principal Hotel, providing carers with a well-deserved break and peer support.

Scott Goldsmith, Project Manager at Siemens Electrification, along with colleagues and partners, took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 7 August to raise funds for York Carers Centre. They raised over £5,000, an incredible achievement, and we are truly grateful for their outstanding fundraising efforts. Well done, team!
