Substance misuse

Who do we support?

Are you affected by someone else’s drinking or drug use? If so, you are a carer and we can offer support to you. We offer support to anyone who is affected by substance misuse. This includes parents, partners, children, siblings, grandparents and friends.

Carers can access our carer support services, and there is a substance misuse carer support group on the third Wednesday of the month, 1.30 to 3.30pm at Tesco Community Room, Askham Bar, York.

For more information on this please contact us on 01904 715490 or email enquiries@yorkcarerscentre.co.uk.

On the right are some digital stories produced by STRETCH Charity where  some of our carers share their experiences of caring for a loved one with a drug and/or alcohol problem and how York Carers Centre has helped them. Sam Ferguson, Partnership Development Officer,  also shares her experience of being a young carer and what brought her into this role.
