York Carers Centre will be working with Next Door But One and York Dance Space to bring another Carers Creative Retreat in August 2026.
Following the success of last year’s summer retreat, York Carers Centre will be working with Next Door But One and York Dance Space to bring another Carers Creative Retreat on Monday 24th August.
Using Welburn Village Hall as our base, the day will consist of creative writing, dance and performance to connect with nature, ourselves and each other; giving lots of time for reflection and taking time out for ourselves.
Some activities will be indoors (level floor access and accessible toilets within the village hall) and within the beautifully secluded Bank Wood (to get here there is a 15-20 minute walk which is uphill on public footpaths, some which can be a little narrow and some uneven ground. However support will be provided and participants are encouraged to go at their own pace and enjoy the surroundings).
Lunch will also be provided, as will return transport from opposite York Memorial Gardens. Meeting at 9.30 am, to set off at 10am and return from Welburn at 3.30 pm. We encourage people to come in comfortable clothing, suitable outdoor footwear and anything else according to the weather on the day. Bringing a bottle of water is also advisable.
