You’ve helped raise £2,000 for unpaid carers in York - Thank you!

Last Sunday (2 August 2026), staff and volunteers from York Carers Centre laced up their running shoes to take part in Run For All’s York 10K, raising vital funds to support unpaid carers across York.

Starting at 9:30 am on Knavesmire Road, near York Racecourse, the race is one of Yorkshire’s most popular 10K events and has been running since 2009. Over 10,000 participants took to the historic streets of York to raise money for many charitable causes, including our fantastic team of staff and volunteers.

We set a goal of £1,000 and you have helped us smash that goal by double and raised £2,000! Thank you to all the generous donors for their support. Every penny goes towards providing free support for unpaid carers in York from the age of 5, including young carers, young adult carers, adult carers and parent carers.

Don’t worry if you haven’t had the chance to donate; our LocalGiving page is still up.

It was an amazing atmosphere and we were carried along by all the cheering from the crowds and our colleagues at York Carers Centre

This summer has been a fantastic season of fundraising, with both Team Dragonflies, through the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge, and the staff at Bishopthorpe Palace, through a range of fundraising activities, raising money for York Carers Centre as their chosen charity of the year.

Did you know you can set up a regular monthly donation of any amount to support York Carers Centre?
