Free wellbeing sessions

Over the coming months we have two free courses for carers.

You can book your place by calling us on 01904 715490.

Mindfulness for Caring and Coping

Ali Gear and Susie MacKenzie will be your facilitators for this five week course. The sessions will cover the ‘what?’ and ‘how?’ of mindfulness, and the aim is that you will leave the course with some useful skills and ways to approach your caring role. The focus will be on looking after our bodies and minds, and having some fun along the way.

There will be suggestions for practices you can do between the sessions too, with audio materials provided. The course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some mindfulness experience.
When: Thursdays from 17 September to 15 October from 2 to 3.30pm

Writing for Relaxation

(course now fully booked)

A four week creative writing course provided by The Writing Tree. Local writer and Creative Writing teacher Helen Kenwright will lead five Zoom-based sessions where we will try out writing exercises to help us relax and de-stress. No previous creative writing skill or experience is required, and participants will not be expected to share any writing in the session unless they wish to. The course is about taking some time to write for fun and relaxation.

We ran some similar sessions in June and here is some of the feedback from people taking part:  “Healing” “Inspiring” “Absolutely brilliant” “Writing for the soul” “Sociable and engaging” “Subconscious mind exploration”
When: Mondays from 28 September to Monday 19th October, from 2 to 3.30pm.

The writing and mindfulness sessions will be held via zoom, to take part you will need a suitable device (such as a laptop/tablet) and internet connection.
