Spring: Health and Wellbeing sessions
When you spend a lot of your time caring for someone, your own needs can be forgotten about. However, it is really important to be able to maintain your own mental and physical health and wellbeing , so we have a new spring programme of workshops with a guest facilitator. These will be at the Friends Meeting House, Friargate, YO1 9RL.
- Wednesday 3 April 10am to 12 noon: Goal Setting
During the session we will discuss why setting personal goals is important in supporting us in looking after ourselves. We’ll discuss how we identify the activities and roles in life that are important to us, consider the barriers that stop us doing these activities, and use this to set personal, meaningful, realistic goals.
- Wednesday 10 April 10am to 12 noon: Managing Stress and Building Resilience
This session will look at how we cope with and manage stress through prioritising and planning to develop personal goals. We will discuss sleep, fatigue and the challenges that people may face. We’ll consider strategies to support resilience, including some relaxation techniques.
Sessions are interactive in order for you to exchange experiences and develop practical ways to support your wellbeing.
You can attend both or just one session.
Please book onto the Health and Wellbeing Hub sessions via firstname.lastname@example.org or 01904 715490.
We have run several of these sessions before and carers have always reported back how useful and enjoyable they are.
