Carers Rights Day: planning for later life
Friday 24 November is Carers Rights Day; a national campaign to enable carers to know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.
In order to celebrate we are hosting an event for carers who would like more information about planning for later life.
The event will be at York CVS, Denham Room, 15 Priory Street, York ,YO1 6ET from 10am to 12noon.
There will be speakers from Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors and York Advocacy, talking about the legal and financial things to consider as we plan for our own or those we care for’s later life.
There will be a few select stands from useful organisations such as Age UK and Be Independent. You will be able to get benefits advice, information on how services can support you or your loved ones, and talk to Carers Support Workers from York Carers Centre and City of York Council.
York Central MP Rachael Maskell will also be dropping in to show her support for unpaid carers.
There will be pastries and refreshments from 10am, followed by speakers and the opportunity to talk to the people at the stands.
Please let us know if you intend to come along, so we can cater appropriately, on 01904 715490.
