The Priory Street Centre

Priory Street itself was created in 1854 and the centre’s buildings have been refurbished and now house York Council for Voluntary Service (yorkcvs). The centre is a conference venue developed to meet the needs of the voluntary and community sector and is also used by a number of voluntary organizations who have their offices within the centre. The Priory Street Centre was formerly a school, and above the doorways of what is now the Nursery block you can see the two separate entrances, one for boys and one for girls!

Carers Centre

The Carers Centre’s new offices are in the Nursery block on the ground floor. We have two offices a general office where the team work and the information room where we have a cosy seating area. This room is also used for meetings, training, carers social events and is where our extensive information system is kept.
