Carers Rights Day

Carers Rights Day will be on Friday 2 December in 2011. Find out more about what’s on in our winter newsletter or on this website. Carers Rights Day is all about knowing your rights:
  • finding 'hidden' carers who don't realize they have rights,
  • supporting carers to claim what they are entitled to
  • informing carers and carers groups about protection for them under the  Equality Act.

Carers Week 2010

Friday 3 December 2010 was Carers Rights Day. Despite the bad weather we managed to have staff from the Centre at three libraries (Acomb, Clifton and Tang Hall) and at York hospital.   The day was a good opportunity to meet carers who had not been in touch with us before, and to raise awareness about the needs of unpaid carers.   We also had an information display at the Centre Explore library and York Carers Forum showed their DVD at City Screen in the morning.
