York Local Involvement Network (LINk) gives everyone in York the opportunity to influence local health and social care services.  They can help local people, groups and organisations to influence key decision makers within the local NHS, the City of York Council and organisations who provide our health and social care services.

York Carers Forum offers support to all unpaid carers over 18 living or caring in the City of York area.  They meet regularly and holds many social events for carers.  The forum:

• provides a focus across all care groups
• promotes carers needs
• gathers and shares information for carers
• identifes carers needs
• works with agencies to develop appropriate services

Vulnerable adults in York and their friends, neighbours and carers have a wealth of information available to them at the click of a button thanks to the safeguarding adults in york website.

The website is created by York Safeguarding Adults’ Board (a partnership group responsible for ensuring the safety of vulnerable adults in York ) and advises the public and professionals on the types of abuse adults may be subjected to and what to do if they suspect abuse.

Carers UK the voice of carers.  It is a membership organisation of carers, led by carers for carers. Carers are at the heart of all its work, shaping our campaigns, helping get carers' messages across through the media, taking action to bring about change locally and nationally.

Crossroads Care provides services through anetwork of local providers across England and Wales.

Each offers a variety of support services for carers including our core service where a trained carer support worker comes into the home to take over the caring responsibilities, enabling the carer to take a break.

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers is the largest provider of comprehensive carers support services in the UK. Through its unique network of 144 independently managed Carers' Centres , 85 young carers services and interactive websites, www.carers.org and www.youngcarers.net,
